coorporate speak

the one that has been floating around for awhile is soup to nuts. I'm so sick of hearing it. i'm not even sure how you turn soup into nuts, but maybe some of you do.

that is a crappy saying. who has a full course meal these days with soup as a starter and finishes with nuts? (i haven't even ever heard of having nuts as part of a meal other than part of a dish or as an appitizer.)

well, it's a dumb saying, but if used in the correct context, it could make sense. the definition makes sense at least...

Okay, well, I'm the uncool nerd here... I like the saying and use it when appropriate. To me, it conjures up a sense of completeness (the context of the meal that includes everything) with more vividness than "start to finish".

Sarah, I, like you, enjoyed the saying as well. that is for the first couple years. when it becomes the catch phrase and poster child for over use it loses its fun.
