FOOOOD

so, what does everybody want to eat for thanksgiving? Is turkey desired? I figure if we come up with what we want, we'll have an easier time planning meals...

Printing human organs

Were any of you folks at the colloqium about printing 3-d objects? This is sort of related, except that they're printing human organs.

tday, bring your armor.

I'm going paintballing wednesday night after board meeting. (we'll, actually i'm skipping out on part of board meeting to go)
500 balls are about 14$ or so at fred meyers.
so, having not even gone yet, OR purchased the balls (A friend is loaning me his gun and air) i managed to find a solution for thanksgiving.
check out my ebay bid.
i probably should have held out and got a better trigger / longer barrel, but the price seemed good. that's about 80$ less then buying it new if you DON"T count the aftermakert barrel.
I think i can get us another guy and 3 guns. anyone have one gun and mask they can bring?
i can see sarah and jen playing, but alodia will probably wimp out on us. we all have our strengths, hers is knowing what sports are worth engaging in.

Attention Catcher

it is difficult to differentiate organic chemistry articles sometimes. just browsing through tables of contents usually ends with one or two articles that i read the abstract and on average less than one article read. people do interesting things to get thier work noticed, make it seem more novel. i really liked the image this group chose to put in the table of contents along with the name in the title. mmmm pretzel.

saving money?

i am pretty sure this isn't worth my time, but the 5% match did give me pause.
keep the change

right now i have a credit card that gives me back 1% on all purchases. i purchase pretty well everything on it. keep the money to pay it off in savings account (usually try to keep it in my high interest ingdirect account) and pay off all of it when the bill comes due.

bank of america is now offering this keep the change program. when you use a debit card (like a check) to pay for purchases it rounds to the next dollar for the total purchase price and then transfers the amount needed to get to a whole dollar to your savings account. big whoop. that isn't actually an advantage. but then i saw that they will match 5% of that. so for a moment i paused and thought 5% is better than 1% but then i remembered, it is just on that change amount... we're talking pennies per transaction regardless of the total transaction amount. definately not worth my time.

I did it

It was me that screwed up the page. I was making changes to mine, and I swear I clicked to change mine, but then it said nerdy tales, so apparently I didn't get mine... oops!

I'll try to fix it. I don't know how to do the most recent comments stuff on the side though, so anyone who knows how to do that, feel free to add it in...
