Today, I went to work. I sat in Monday morning meeting until 8:40ish. Then found out that the well that feeds water to our grounds has a problem somewhere, and we have no water at work. So we all got to go home. Tomorrow they expect to have bottled water for us and maybe a porta potty... ha ha.
I did a bit of work (until I had to pee) and then left work.
So I've been home since 10:45am or so, and it's just wonderful. I could handle working 3 hour days...

3 hour days rock. when I was out interviewing I worked about 2hrs a day and got as much done remote as I do during a normal 8hr day. that was a sign to me that the 8hr work day is highly overrated
ohhh... btw, where was kev? did he not have to pee?
i had to pee too. but, i have this wonder of wonders called a 'VPN' so it largely does not matter i'm not at my physical desk.
SO, i got to come home and continue. I did give myself a 'no water day treat' by watching a movie, but now that's over and my current project is not (how many projects do I have?! apparently more then there is time for) so it's back to work.
awesome! i love a good excuse for a second sunday =).
I would have figured kev would have set up a good old fashioned solar still in the front lawn and solved two problems at once :).
if i'd of peed into the solar still, ya know, seed it, maybe it'd of jump started it...
we've found the water pipes spaning at least 200 yards to be galvanized and not up to the nearly 25 years of use. There were multiple holes (leaks) located by an expert (amazing what $250 will buy) and i've heard rumers that much of pipe will be dug up and just replaced with plastic - wholesale. anything we can find.
problem is, we've at least 100 feet of pipe under asfault and a foundation to the shop that presuraizes the tanks (think 35' x 75').... so it should be interesting. in the mean time, we have 'honey bucket' porto jons. it makes for a fun walk, and the bottled water at 20oz per bottle is a nice perk. i drank nearly 3 bottles today. i'll see if i can drink 4 tomarrow.
