step 1: order something on-line from a company in new york and select ups 3 day shipping.
step 2: order something on-line from a company in memphis, tn and select ups 3 day shipping.
step 3: watch where they converge..... in my case they converged in louisville, ky where they boarded a plane for seattle, wa and are now on their way to sparks, nv.

fuel economy
mpgbuddy.com describes a 1986 chevy sprint that is about 8th on their list of most fuel economical vehicles. Pending your acceptance of picking your toes out of your teeth if you get in a wreck, that might actually be a good investment - considering the cost of the car and the fuel for a year is usually what i pay a year for fuel alone in the subaru. Run it 2 years and also save the equivilent of what needs to be paid for the emessions and liscencing and your ahead of the game.

time wasters
markTaw's time wasters sent me to the ultimateshowdown a horrendously stupid flash movie, but is still capable of surpassing modern animation. chuck norris, power rangers and even mr. rogers make an appearance.
even more interesting is classic arcade games online through java emulation at 1980-games.com

valid?
reviewing the rules of fencing, I noticed a particularly low 'valid' target area. that makes me no longer interested in the sport.

open source movie
free to download, free to get the origional 'source' and edit.
made with free software (think blender)
check out Elephants Dream
it was interesting to connect to download 814mb through a torrent and find 65000 people in the swarm (over 6000 seeds). now, i've seen 6000 seeds before, but never more then 45000 people total in a swarm I've been in. cool.

thin client
linux terminal server project gives you the opportunity to recycle something as old and archaic as a P75 with 16 meg of ram and 4 meg video card to boot over lan and interface to modern OS's. sounds perfect for the 16 meg P100 laptop I have in the closet.
microsoft seems to have their own flavor here
