VI Editor

i needed to use a text editor in unix today (one of the NMR machines uses a unix interface and i wanted to add a parameter to my print view). so i went looking on the internet for a basic guide on how to use vi. i found this guide over at the university of hawaii and it is great! if you ever need to know some basics on how to navigate in vi read this! i printed out the pdf and took it with me and found it invaluable.

one of my old coworkers had a son that worked on VI-2 or VI+ or some enhanced version of VI, the exact name escapes me.

for jen, this was my coworker Al, the guy that moved back to the homestead and built his own house... really nice guy
