I found the list of MAC address ranges assigned to manufactures. this is a unique prefix in the MAC system that designates the manufacure. I was glad to see my manufacture was legit and was listed

ooo that's pretty cool.
it is interesting to see that exxon has an allotment and that your parent company is later in the list than the company it took over.
