A great quote

The quote, "The squirrel did not survive," at the end of this news story makes up for the rather dull way in which it was written.

"the squirrel was on wires atop the power pole when it was electrocuted, caught fire and fell to the ground, causing a fire around the power pole. Nearby residents used fire extinguishers to douse the flames."

have to state that the squirrel DID NOT SURVIVE is rather histarical. If I was electrocuted, fell from a high pole, and then caught the field on fire because my body was burning I can't say I'd expect or be expected to survive.

kind of reminds me of those pesky squirrels at Walla Walla that kept blowing the tranformer. maybe next generation power distribtuion will have an ultrasonic carrier to fend of stupid animals.

i too thought a falling flaming animal was pretty well dead, but i guess that isn't a forgone conclusion. check out the story about this cat.
"A hunting trip cost a cat a third of his nine lives on Wednesday when, while apparently stalking a bird's nest, he came in contact with a 25,000-volt power line, caught fire, fell off a 40-foot pole and set a brush fire."
