some modicum of sanity

cybersquatting is ruled to be illegal. thesimpsonsmovie.com was registered to someone who had nothing to do with the simpsons or fox so it was ruled he couldn't sell it for big bucks to fox.

The TLD's are all messed up, it used to be where a non-profit had to get a .org, and a for profit could only get a .com. and .net was reserved for networks, but now it doesn't matter. Why have different TLD's if anyone can get any TLD?

if its .com, i say FIRST COME FIRST SERVE, unless it is the EXACT name of an individual, and that individual wishes to pay the owner what they have payed for the name. hmm.. ok.. one more restriction. it has to be an ORIGINOAL name, no fair changing your name to thesimpsonmovie so you can buy the domain

original name: you mean like if I wait 9 months and name my first born thesimpsonsmovie.com so I can purchase the domain name?!

i think we're on to something.

shoot, that strategy would work particularly well for the mormon brethren.... i've have to augment with a new clause but i'm not sure where to start!
