i want dinner rolls, peas, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.... oh and some munchie veggies for the afternoon like i had last time. i think we'll be driving up on tues or wed. so i'd like to go grocery shopping with you and whoever else wants to make stuff =).
i'm bringing my pasta rollers so some night we can have fresh pasta and mazithra and salad.
cool beans... I've got dinner rolls under control. I have a bunch of leftover from this last weekend potluck that I froze for thanskgiving.
I'll have Wednesday off (comp day) so will be home to cook, shop and whatever that day...
Any one else - when are you showing up?
Also, what does everyone like to eat for breakfast? Cold cereal, hot cereal, pancakes, waffles (mmm), biscuits, breakfast cake, eggs, black coffee, ??? Let me know.
pumpkin pie, the mazithra spaghettit sounds great for one of the meals
anyone stuffing a bird? I could go either way.
breakfast:
waffles (strawberries and whipcream is good on those, or peaches)
jen, are you bringing the cherry drink stuff?
mmm waffles...
instead of martinellis we were thinking of having ginger ale and this juice from wal-mart black cherry/cranberry. super tasty. i'll bring up a couple bottles.
i don't mind the bird, but i'd rather have less time in the kitchen (good and fast meals) and more time to do something else. it's up to the chefs to make the final decisoin though.
what, you're not a chef? :) hardy har har...
I don't mind cooking turkey if people want it... Everyone cast your vote so I know what to do...
i'm a 50/50 on the bird, so don't count my vote. if no one else votes I'd say thats a pretty good sign for no bird.
I have a good recipe for blueberry pancakes if anyone would like some of those. As far as Thanksgiving dinner itself, I'm pretty open to whatever. I'm good with just taking a trip to the grocery store once we're there since I won't be shopping again before we head up. (We'll be leaving around 7 am so we'll get there sometime after that. :) )
we'll probably leave bend about the same time... if you are taking 395 up to spokane turn your frs to channel 10, maybe we'll catch you =).
i think we should have something innovative for thanksgiving instead of turkey. like a stuffed pumpkin or roasted quail or stuffed mushrooms.
so, am i expecting you guys on tuesday, or wednesday?
Heh, guess I left out that detail. Wednesday, for us.
Stuffed mushrooms sound yummy, as do the quail, but the pumpkin is a little too exotic for me. Don't worry, if you all want it, I'll just fill up on pumpkin pie. :)
ok, see you all Wednesday evening then...
FYI, my brother and sister in law (and possibly my sister) will be coming up to stay w/ us Thursday and on. so add 2-3 more in the numbers...
I'm up for stuffed pumpkin or mushrooms - quail itself I'm not impressed with... I have a really good recipe for hot Fri-chik salad. It's yummy...
lets do some sort of stuffed mushrooms then! mmm mushrooms... the fri-chick salad sounds good too. i'm for two "main" dishes.
hopefully you guys will have a bed for us. we packed our sleeping bags. can find them if needed but would prefer to just be moochers =). we'll even settle for a blanket on the floor.
we've got 1 queen size ed, one full size (water)bed, one twin w/ pullout that makes it a double, one twin, and then our cal king (which is not up for grabs).
I think we have enough beds...
we are at grandmas, on a leached wifi connectin. I'm REALLY glad to hear you have beds cause we did not pack sleeping bags. I have a mixer kitchen aid thing in the trunk. not that good for sleeping on
