grand theft auto 4 mocks many things. but i found this particularly funny.
weazel news (think what other news channel is small & furry & right-wing). it even includes the headline "Government officials address Dark Cerulean 4 threat level"

GPS tracker
"The Open GPS Tracker is a small device which plugs into a $20 prepaid mobile phone to make a GPS tracker. The Tracker responds to text message commands, detects motion, and sends you its exact position, ready for Google Maps or your mapping software. The Tracker firmware is open source and user-customizable."
looks interesting.

micro steam car
If I have to do teen/preteen events like childcare, VBS, or Pathfinders guest speaker, i'll definatly try to do the micro steam-car hands on.
Looks pretty cool with simple materials.

audio book
Got me a small .mp3 player for $8 off buy.com - Sansa C140 refurbished.
So far it's only crashed on one .mp3 and makes a great tool for audio books.
Thus far, Robert Heinlein's 'Citizen of the Galaxy' has proven quite good.
I've got 27 other Robert Heinlein books, so hopefully the others are as good as this one.

64kb
What can you do with 64KB? now much you say. try fr08, one in a long line of series of absolutely amazing demos. they even have a tool you can build your own.
FR08 was way back in 2000-2003. my computers not fast enough, but those of you with decent hardware should try the next generation: kkrieger that is a nice looking FPS in 96kb. if anyone gets that to run let me know how it work.
visit http://www.werkkzeug.com/ and get yourself a copy of the next generation tool werkkzeug3 TE
if any/all of that floats your boat, take a look at debris, the latest demo at 177k or so. again, this one is a no-go for me as i'm
to see the best of 2007 try http://www.scene.org/awards.php

Populating Mars
find out if you are material to populate mars as part of the Virgle pioneers.
me?
"Well, you're distressingly normal and could conceivably adjust to life as a deep space pioneer, though we recommend instead that you leave the Mars missions to the serious whack jobs who scored over 130 and instead finish year 3 of law school, tuck your toddler into bed, design Web 2.0 applications, run for Congress or do whatever other normal, healthy, middle-of-the-road thing you're currently doing with your normal, healthy, middle-of-the-road life. If you're determined to give Virgle a try, though, you can submit your video here."
