thanks sarah for the google charts api idea - i've got it running in product for a simple task. saved me a ton of time and now that problem is 'someone elses' as I gave them the helpfile for google charts!
Also, have you seen Flot yet? :D It's a jQuery charting plugin (and I'm currently obsessed with jQuery... just ask Daniel). Has some fun features like being able to see more information about a specific data point when hovering over it. I used it for a client project and have been very happy with it.
It doesn't do Venn diagrams, though, as far as I know, and I do love me a good Venn diagram.
I'm personally enamored with Google Chart API. Well, at least in theory... haven't actually found time to use it yet...

Protovis looks pretty cool - depending on how you can present your raw data.
